Nuclear energy is the second largest contributor of non-emitting electricity in Canada. Nuclear energy provided approximately 16% of Canada’s total electricity needs (close to 60% in Ontario) contributing meaningfully to climate change and other atmospheric emissions objectives. 

Tron is a Nuclear grade contactor with a wide variety of experience working in ‘hot zones’ and sites regulated by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). Tron’s unparalleled industry experience has also helped with securing master service agreements with longstanding clients in key sectors of the Canadian economy. 

In January 2019, Makwa Development Corp. and Tron signed a supplier agreement with Bruce Power, as part of the electricity company’s ongoing investment program. This new joint venture will be 100 percent First Nation-owned and will be situated on the Nawash First Nation – bringing together a First Nation whose traditional land is the source of raw ore for nuclear fuel with another where materials are processed to produce clean energy.

Tron is expanding into the Ontario market taking on general contracting opportunities with Cameco which include demolition and remediation, mechanical piping, electrical and instrumentation, structural modification and light civil works.
